Summer of Chill Creator Brief 2026

The Summer of Chill — Creator Brief

Companion Herbals — Creator Brief 2026

The Summer
of Chill

Big feelings. Powerful plants. Some very calm dogs.

We're so glad you're here.

Before we get into the details — we want you to know a little about who you're working with and why this campaign means so much to us.

Companion Herbals is a family-owned brand run by two people: Rickilee and Scott. We started this company years ago with one belief — that dogs deserve the same quality of herbal medicine we expect for ourselves. Then life happened. We lost two dogs. We moved cities. We became parents to our daughter. We welcomed Levi, our golden retriever, into our family.

And somewhere in all of that, we couldn't stop seeing something. The world keeps asking dogs to cope with more than their nervous systems were designed to handle. Early separations. Loud cities. Busy homes. Long hours alone. Overstimulation. Dogs who can't settle, who shake at the vet, who panic when the fireworks start — and are told it's a behaviour problem.

It isn't. It's nervous system dysregulation. And it's the missing piece in pet care.

We came back to build something around that truth. Three herbal formulas — developed by a trained medical herbalist, registered with Health Canada, trusted by vets — that nourish and restore the nervous system at the root. Not sedation. Not obedience. Biology.

This is more than a product to us. It's a movement toward a world where dogs get the support their nervous systems have always needed. And the Summer of Chill is our first big step in showing what that looks like — on real dogs, across a whole summer, in the honest words of people who love them.

We're so glad you're part of it. It's just us right now — two parents, one golden, and a whole lot of belief that this matters. Thank you for being here.

— Rickilee & Scott, Companion Herbals

What is the Summer of Chill?

Good news: you just signed up for the most fun campaign of your summer. Here's what it actually is.

🌿 The vibe

Three rounds of real dogs, real nervous systems, and one very chill summer — running June through mid-September. Each round, a group of dogs starts a 30-day herbal journey with Companion Herbals. Their humans document it. Their audiences follow along. We share everything.

This isn't a polished campaign. It's a story — and your dog is the main character. We want the fireworks moments, the car ride meltdowns, the "wait, did that actually work?" check-ins. Summer is basically the world's greatest stress test for dogs, and you get to show what happens when their nervous system finally gets real support.

No scripts. No pressure to report a miracle. Just your dog, your voice, and 30 days of something different.

🐾 Real dogs 🌿 Powerful plants ☀️ All summer long 🎆 Fireworks. Road trips. Chaos. 📲 4 videos. That's it.

What you're receiving

You'll receive two formulas matched to your dog's specific needs: one daily formula (either Calm Club or Steady Eddy, depending on your dog's history) taken every single day as ongoing nervous system support, plus Chill Mode — our fast-acting, as-needed formula for acute moments of stress. Think of them as the long game and the emergency kit, working together.

Dosing: Both formulas are dosed by your dog's weight and added directly to food — that's the easiest and most effective delivery. Direct mouth dosing is fine if needed, but food is preferred. Full dosing instructions are included with your order and on each bottle.

For more on the herbs inside each formula, visit companionherbals.com — each product page walks through the full ingredient list and what each plant does.

As-needed formula
Chill Mode

Fast-acting herbal support for fireworks, vet visits, car rides, grooming appointments, and any moment that spikes your dog's system. Formulated with Chamomile, Passionflower, Valerian, and Oatstraw — plants known for supporting calm behaviour and helping dogs settle during stressful moments. Use it as needed alongside your daily formula.

Daily formula
Calm Club

Daily nervous system nourishment for dogs who are generally overstimulated, restless, reactive, or emotionally unsteady. Formulated with Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Oatstraw, and Nettle Leaf to support emotional balance and a steadier baseline over time. Taken twice daily — it's the everyday foundation every dog deserves.

Daily formula — deeper recovery
Steady Eddy

For dogs carrying something deeper — rescue histories, early separation, trauma, long-standing stress patterns, or big feelings that don't shift with daily nourishment alone. Formulated with Chamomile, Reishi, Ashwagandha, Rose Hips, Oatstraw, and Nettle — adaptogens and nervines that work together to replenish and restore an overworked nervous system over time. This is the one for the dogs who need more than settling. They need healing.

All formulas are herbalist-formulated, Health Canada registered, and vet approved. Made with pure plant extracts, vegetable glycerine, and purified water. No synthetic flavours, no fillers, no alcohol.

What you earn

Your full compensation structure

$100 CAD cash — paid on the day your product ships. No waiting until the campaign ends. You'll send an invoice once you receive your shipping confirmation (we'll remind you).

Two products included — your daily formula plus Chill Mode, valued at ~$80–85 CAD. Yours to keep regardless of outcome.

20% affiliate commission on every sale driven through your unique code. Every time someone purchases using your link, you earn 20% of that sale — tracked and paid out monthly.

$200 CAD cash bonus to the creator with the highest-converting affiliate code at the end of the summer across all three rounds. Announced week of September 15.

Full product supply through end of year for the creator with the most engaged post across the summer (measured by saves + comments). Announced week of September 15.

First in line for future campaigns. We'll be running more campaigns as Companion Herbals grows — creators from the Summer of Chill are our first call every time.

What's realistically possible: If 10 people from your audience purchase through your code at $39.99 each, that's roughly $80 CAD in your pocket. Engage your audience well and that number goes much higher — every sale you drive counts, all summer long.

Your four videos — exactly what we're looking for

Each video is 30 seconds. Absolute max 45 seconds if needed. Think of these as voice notes with visuals — your audience follows you because you're genuine. Stay genuine.

🌡️ The Chaos Rating — explained

The chaos rating is your dog's nervous system score out of 10, self-assigned by you. You set it in Video 1 and revisit it in Video 4. It gives your audience something to track all month — and makes the day-30 reveal genuinely satisfying to watch.

How to rate: Think about your dog's reactivity, how long it takes them to settle after something stressful, and how they handle their biggest trigger. A 1 is a dog who barely notices anything. A 10 is a dog who loses it at the sound of a plastic bag.

No right or wrong answer. The realness is the point.

Video formatting — applies to all four videos

Length: 30 seconds. Absolute max 45 seconds if truly needed. Shorter is almost always better.

On-screen text: Use the Classic font in Instagram (that's the specific font name, not a style description). White background text or pull a colour from the supplement bottle label. Medium size — not tiny, not huge, readable at a glance. Text should sit inside the video frame, not bleeding to edges.

Captions: Turn on auto-captions or add them manually. Clean and readable — same Classic font where possible.

No heavy effects, filters, or bold colour overlays. Natural lighting, real environment. This is the aesthetic that builds trust — and it's also the least amount of work.

No branded intros, trending audio under your voice, or heavy transitions. Straight to it.

📱 Example video — what we love and what to adjust

We made a quick example video to show the general vibe. Watch it here: instagram.com/p/DZEBDxyCxfP

Love this: Simple talking head, real environment, genuine tone — this is exactly the energy we're after

Love this: Clean on-screen text overlays using the Classic font and a colour pulled from the bottle label

Love this: No heavy editing, no fancy transitions — just honest content that feels like a real review

Love this: Even with imperfect lighting it still works — your message matters more than production quality

⚠️

One note: This video runs a little long — aim for 30 seconds, 45 max. Your audience will watch more if it's tighter.

Week One · See your round's due date above
Meet the chaos gremlin
Talking head Dog optional Introduce chaos rating

Your introduction. You're a dog parent dealing with something real — and you've decided to try something different this summer. Keep it simple and direct. Your dog doesn't need to be on camera for this one, though having them naturally nearby is perfect.

What to include

Introduce yourself and your dog by name — and name their specific thing (separation anxiety, reactive on leash, can't settle, fireworks panic, etc.)

Tell us you're joining the Summer of Chill — a 30-day nervous system journey with Companion Herbals

Give your dog their starting chaos rating and the reason ("Giving Biscuit a 7 — she loses it every single time we pass another dog on leash")

Show the product bottle briefly — hold it up or show it in frame

End with a simple teaser: "Check back with me in two weeks"

On-screen text hook example

Use the Classic font. White background or pull a colour from the bottle. Medium size, inside the frame. Example hook: "my dog is a 7/10 chaos gremlin 🌿 we're trying something new"

Caption starter — make it yours

"We've been dealing with [dog name]'s [their thing] for a while and I've tried a lot. This summer I'm trying something different — 30 days of herbal nervous system support with @companionherbals as part of their Summer of Chill. Starting chaos rating: [X]/10. Check back with me. #SummerOfChill #ad"

Week Two · See your round's due date above
Your dog in action
B-roll + voiceover Dog must be in this one Show the ritual

Your first action video. Show your dog doing life while you narrate or appear on camera with them. This is where the product ritual lives — show the drops going into their food, then your dog out in the world. Voiceover or talking head both work great here.

What to include

A clip of you adding the drops to their food — just a few seconds, shows the product naturally

A clip of your dog in a real moment — at the park, on a walk, in a situation that would normally spike them

Tell us what you're noticing — even small shifts count ("she's still reactive but she came back to me faster than usual")

A slow start is fine and makes for better content than an overnight miracle

Caption starter

"Two weeks into our Summer of Chill with @companionherbals — here's where we're at. [2–3 sentences of what you've noticed]. Still watching. #SummerOfChill #ad"

3
Week Three · See your round's due date above
The summer trigger test
B-roll + voiceover Dog must be in this one Most shareable video

The most creative video of the four and the one most likely to get shared. Capture your dog in a real summer moment that would normally be a trigger — then show or narrate how they responded. Either outcome makes compelling content.

Summer trigger ideas — pick what's real for your dog

🎆

Fireworks or loud noises

🚗

A car ride or road trip

🏕️

Camping or a new environment

👥

A crowded park, BBQ, or outdoor event

🐕

Passing other dogs on leash

🏠

Being left home alone — before and after footage

Caption starter

"Week three of our Summer of Chill and we put [dog name] to the test. [Their trigger] used to mean [what normally happened]. Here's what happened this time. @companionherbals #SummerOfChill #ad"

4
Day 30 · See your round's due date above
The reveal
Talking head New chaos rating Natural CTA if it fits

Back on camera, like Video 1. This is your honest 30-day reflection. Your audience has been following along — give them the real payoff. What shifted? What's still in progress? What's the new chaos rating?

What to include

Your updated chaos rating with a one-line reason ("went from a 7 to a 4 — still reactive but recovers so much faster now")

The most notable thing you noticed — specific is better than general

If it feels natural — share whether you're continuing and mention your affiliate code for a discount at companionherbals.com

A partial result is still a result. Your audience will respect you more for saying it plainly.

Caption starter

"Day 30. Here's where we landed. [Dog name] went from [X]/10 to [Y]/10 and the biggest thing I noticed was [specific observation]. [If continuing naturally: share that here.] Want to try it? My code [YOUR CODE] gets you a discount at companionherbals.com. @companionherbals #SummerOfChill #ad"

The technical stuff — simple version

3

Affiliate link in bio. Your affiliate link lives as your primary bio link from Video 1 through at least 30 days after Video 4. This is how your commissions are tracked.

4

#SummerOfChill + paid partnership tag in every caption. Every post must be disclosed as a paid collaboration per platform guidelines.

How to send a collab invite on Instagram

1

Create your post or reel and get to the final share screen

2

Important — Health Canada Compliance

Companion Herbals products are registered veterinary health products with Health Canada. There are some things we can't say in marketing content — including your posts. We'll flag anything in the review stage, but here's the simple guide so you're set before you film:

❌ Please avoid:

• "treats anxiety" / "cures anxiety"

• "fixes separation anxiety" / "fixes behaviour"

• "treats [any medical condition]"

• Guaranteeing specific results

✓ This language works perfectly:

• "supports the nervous system"

• "helps my dog settle" / "supports calm behaviour"

• "support for stressful moments"

• "I noticed..." / "in my experience..." / "it seemed like..."

Think: support, not treatment. Your genuine observed experience is always fine. If you're ever unsure about a phrase, email us before filming and we'll sort it quickly.

Big feelings. Powerful plants.
Some very calm dogs.

We're genuinely excited to see where your dog's 30 days goes.
Questions anytime — we're fast to respond and happy to help.
